Rice and Beans

Being at home has been a great blessing to our family. But with all new things comes changes. I remember as a teacher I dreaded rainy days because the children were wild and there was not where to take them to get their energy out. Well, surprise, we have the same issue at home. However, I have come up will some creative ways to entertain the girls and I know that I will have to come up with several more as cold weather comes our way. Right now one of the girls favorite things to do is to play with bowls or rice and beans with spoons and measuring cups. They have a blast!

 

Portland, Maine

Brett had a business trip to Maine and I decided I needed to go as well. We had a blast. We want to thank our parents for watching the girls and allowing us to have a child free trip. The people here were great, the food was amazing, and the place was wonderful!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Labor Day

 

Every year we get together with some family friends for Labor Day weekend.  Brett and his family have been doing this seems like forever and we would not want to miss this weekend for the world.  He looks forward to golfing and I love the shopping and girls talk.  I hope this continues for years to come!

Trick or Treat

The girls got plenty of use out of their Halloween costumes.  First, we went to the Natural Science Museum for their Halloween festivities with the girls best friend, Marley.  Then, we went trick-or-treating with our friends, David and Katie and their little girl Madeleine.  The older two girls also got to wear them to get group pictures with their gymnastics class.  This was also Reagan's first day for gymnastics and she loves it just as much as Grace.  The girls have the same teachers but go at different times.  At first I was not thrilled to be at gymnastics for two hours but I love that they have their on classes and they do too.

 

Painting Pumpkins

We began our Halloween by painting pumpkins.  The girls are very hands-on and we thought they would enjoy painting pumpkins more than watching daddy carve them.  They loved it!

 

 

Happy Father's day

Today has been a fun day of just spending time with the girls. There is nothing like the five of us spending the day doing nothing but being with each other and having a blast doing it. We had a great sermon today about how to be a father using our Havenly Father as our model. One of the things Steve, our preacher, said has really stuck with me. I am not sure who wrote this but it will soon be up somewhere in our house: God did not make women from man's head to rule over him, He did not make him from his foot to be walked over by him, but God made women from man's side to be man's equal. From Man's side to be protected by him and always close to his heart. What a powerful saying and image. I love it and will strive my hardest to live this way.

Still here!

Well a lot has happened since my last post. We have three wonderful little girls...4, 3, and 1. They are the light of our world. We have recently moved and I got a great new job...stay-at-home mom! Brett just bought us an iPad so I hope this will help me stay updated! Pictures to come, there is no way to completely catch up but I will do my best.
