Reagan

Reagan is doing great. I wanted to make sure I put at least one picture of her on the blog. I am sure many more will be added soon.

RSV Treatment

I just wanted to share such sad but cute pictures of Grace getting her breathing treatments. She should be done by the end of this week.

Such a Big Girl

Grace is playing up a storm with her new favorite toy. Check out the picture.

Grace loves to rock in her rocking chair. This past week she learned how to climb into it. She also thinks that jumping is the way to get out of the chair!

The Ride Home

Grace caught up on her sleep on the ride home...too cute!

TIME WITH HONEY AND GRANDADDY

We recently went up to Memphis because Brett had a job interview. Brett's interview was rescheduled for this Monday. Please pray that whatever is supposed to happen with this interview will happen. Grace had a blast with her cousin Emma and with Tay-Tay. The first night Grace just did not want to go to bed! You can see from the pictures she would try to go to sleep with granddaddy. Nothing worked! Taylor finally got her to calm down. The pictures are priceless!

First Doctor's Appointment

Can you believe that Reagan is already 2 weeks old. This Friday she will be 3 weeks old. How time goes by!!! Well, she had her first doctor's appointment yesterday. She is now 5 lbs 15 ounces! The doctor was very excited to see her gain so much weight. Dr. Flowers gave her an A plus for her first visit. Grace came along for the visit. Yes, it was just me and both girls!!! Everyone did great, including me. Grace got the short end of the stick, she was not too happy when she got her second flu shot! Other than that she was such a great big sister. Every time someone came into the room she would walk over the Reagan and point to her and say her name. However, she was not okay with Dr. Flowers giving all the attention to Reagan. Dr. Flowers pick up on Grace's dismay, he then told me to pick Grace up and he proceeded to tell Grace everything he was doing to Reagan. With the attention back on her, she was fine.

Where Does The Time Go

After having Grace, I thought that I had little to no time for myself. Well, now with two babies, I now see how much time I had with one baby. And I now I know what it is like to have NO time for myself. Taking a bath is a true mini-vacation and I am thankful that I have a husband that lets my take long soaks in the tub. However, I return the favor, he plays x-box almost nightly!

Illness in the House

Grace has not being feeling well for the past few days. Brett and I decided to be on the safe side and take her to the doctor, especially with a new baby in the house. I am glad that we did. Brett had to take her to the after-hours clinic because there were no appointments for today. But that was okay because, Dr. Flower's was working at the clinic tonight. Well, Grace has to go back in the morning to talk a test that cannot be preformed at the after-hours clinic. The doctor believes that she might have RSV. We got a breathing machine to start the medicine tonight. We will know for sure after the test in the morning. If it is positive, Reagan and I will be spending a few days at a hotel! Joy, just what a new mom wants - trying to recover, and sick little girl, her husband with a cold, and unable to stay at home! It is times that this that I really miss being close to home.

Mommy of Two

Wow, how life has changed. I love being a mom and being a mom of two is even better. Reagan is doing great. She eats every 3 hours. We have been able to get more sleep than expected with a newborn. We went to the hospital today for a check-up. Reagan is back to her birth weight and her jaundice is much better. The trip to the hospital was the first for the two girls in the car together. Grace was so cute. She pointed and talked to Reagan for most of the ride. I am so thankful that Grace really loves her new sister. She is already trying to say Reagan's name. It is so cute. Speaking of Grace, she is getting her two top teeth. So, she has a grand total of 4 teeth! She also started walking this week. She has been trying to walk for several weeks, but this week she has really taken off. Brett has had a hard time, because "she is growing up". I have been telling him that since she was born, but the walking really hit home. And of course, with a newborn baby at home, Grace seems even bigger! I cannot believe that Grace was Reagan's size about a year ago.

Reagan's Arrival

Well, there is no reason to pay any attention to the last entry. As with Grace, Reagan decided to make an earlier and unexpected arrival. I woke up Thursday morning around 3 a.m. unable to sleep. Then I noticed that I was having some cramping. I thought that it was just Reagan getting into position, which usually takes place weeks before delivery. So I decided to take a bath and relax. It did not stop. I finally got Brett up around 5 a.m. and we decided that I should call the doctor. I felt so bad for waking up the doctor, but I am glad that I did now. Dr. Bush told us to go to the hospital to be put on a monitor. I told Brett that I was worried that I was going to be sent home. Here I was, pregnant with my second child and I could not tell you what a contraction felt like. I had my pain medicine with Grace before any contractions. I was so wrong! We got to the hospital around 5:30 a.m. and I was 4 cm dilated. So, we were put on the list for a c-section for February 6th. We were going to be the second one for the day. The nurses were great, we had to move pretty fast to be ready as soon as possible. However, by 8 a.m. I told Brett to get the nurse...I felt like I had to push. I had still not gotten my spinal, I only had medicine to take the edge off. The nurse checked me again and I was 8 cm dilated. Well, they decided to open the second surgical room, because Reagan was coming, and she was coming NOW! Reagan was born at 8:31 a.m. February 6, 2009. She weighed in at 4 lbs 14 oz and was 18 1/4 inches long. Believe it or not, she was bigger that Grace was at birth. Reagan is doing great and her family could not be happier. Enjoy the pictures!

Baby Reagan Update

The date has been set. We are to report the hospital February 23 at 6a.m.! We will be the second c-section of the day, the first for Dr. Bush, that day. We hope that it will be our turn between 8:30 and 9:30 that morning! I cannot wait. As of today, Reagan is about 5lbs 7oz. It looks like she will have hair, just like Grace did. However, I do not think they are going to look anything alike. If you look at the girls' ultrasound pictures, they look nothing alike. Grace has a much more pronounced chin. But it looks like Reagan is going to have Morgan's lips. I am very jealous! I picked up Reagan's "coming home" outfit, it is too cute. I am hoping that she will fit into it, Grace did not fit into hers for about a month or two. The doctor said that everything looked great and I am back to once a week visits! I have officially begun the Reagan countdown, 18 days and counting!!!!

Note the Pictures: you can click on it to enlarge them. Grace is the one on the left and Reagan is on the right.

Where's Grace

Grace is really in the move these days. She is slowly but surely learning how to walk. As for crawling, she's an old pro. Brett and I were talking in the den when we realized the Grace was not playing with her toys, and come to think of it neither of us had seen her for the past few minutes. Naturally, we looked down the hallway, but there was not Grace. She was not in the kitchen or laundry room either. Finally, we found her! She was in our room, with the door closed. Yes, closed! Her new favorite thing the to open and close the door. I am sure she will have her first pinched fingers soon.

Job Hunt

As everyone knows, Brett will be graduating from Mississippi College School of Law this May. We are very excited. A few months after graduation Brett will take both the Tennessee and Mississippi Bar Exams. The Bar will last for 4, yes count them 4 days. The girls and I plan to spend a lot of time in Memphis and at my parents lake house so Brett can really focus on studying for the Bar Exam. Brett has done great in school and now sets out the find his first Law job. This is not the best of times to be in the "job hunt" but everything will work out with God's help. So if you hear of any job openings in the legal field, please pass them our way. The big question we are getting now is, where do we plan on living. We plan on living wherever Brett's job takes us!!! And if you know me, "The Planner" this is driving me crazy. However, I am learning that not knowing can be just as fun as knowing and planning.

The Ball Pit

For Christmas Grace got a ball pit from Honey and Granddaddy. It came with 50 balls which was great, but not enough. Brett and I have been looking since Christmas for more balls. We finally found some at Wal-mart. So now her ball pit is full. I mean FULL. My camera battery is charging now, picture will soon follow. She really loves to be buried in the ball pit.

One Year and Growing

Grace has changed so much since we welcomed her into the world. Brett and I think she is looking less and less like a baby and more like a toddler. One of the biggest changes is Grace's attitude. Grace has started to really throw some fits when she does not get her way. At home we tell her no when she starts her fits, but we try not to make a big deal of the fits. However, I am still trying to figure out what to do when we are out and about. I mean there is nothing wrong with crying when she is hurt or does not feel well, but I do not want her to throw a fit just because she is not getting her way. The looks that people give are crazy. Sometimes I want to go up them and say, if you missed your nap and were cutting new teeth, you would be crying too! Please do not get me wrong, Grace does not throw fits all the time. As she has always been, she is usually a very happy girl.

Bed Rest and Baby Reagan

\\]As of last week, I'll remain in bed rest until the arrival of Reagan. However, I am allowed to do some things, I no longer have to just stay in bed. My last doctor visit was Thursday, we discussed "how" and "when" Reagan could be born. As of right now, we are planning for a c-section on Feb. 23rd. But, I have learned from Grace's birth that plans are just plans. The baby really decides everything. So, everyone be patient. We are trying to let everyone know things as we learn about them.
